Frequently Asked QuestionsHolistic Mercury Free Dental ServiceDo you take NHS patients? No, we operate as a private practice. We offer the Denplan scheme to our patients which some find useful, however, one has to be dentally fit to join the scheme. What materials do you use?We use composite and ceramic restorations. We can test for biocompatibility of several different types. All are metal free. There is one type of crown/inlay material, zirconium, which in the periodic chemical table is classified as a metal but its' crystalline structure acts as a ceramic. It is useful for large bridges and can be tested for biocompatibility. Where can I find a mercury free dentist in my area?Contact the British IAOMT secretary on 01484 514451 Will my health insurance pay? Most probably not. If we can demonstrate by a blood test that confirms whether or not your immune system is sensitised to mercury or that you have a body burden of toxic metals; then you may have a slight chance with medical insurance. Dental insurance will not help unless the old amalgam fillings are broken and need replacing functionally. How quickly will I see results? Most patients will experience improvement in their symptoms. Some patients begin to feel better with the pre-removal nutritional program. Others notice a difference during actual treatment. Still others get better gradually. studies have shown that 70% show improvement, 28% remain the same and 2% show a deterioration of their symptoms. Will I be protected from further exposure to mercury during amalgam removal?Yes. We follow the protocol established by the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, which is the leading organisation in this field. How many visits are involved? It depends on how much amalgam is present and the extent of your medical problems. Will it hurt?We do everything necessary to minimise any pain or discomfort that you might have. How much will it cost? The answer to that depends on how many amalgam fillings you have and the type of biocompatible materials that we use as replacements, we will give you a comprehensive report before any replacement treatment is commenced. What are your opening times? The clinic is open Monday 8.30am to 6.00pm. Tuesday 2.00pm to 7.30pm. Wednesday 8.30am to 5.30pm.
